Meet Michelle Palatucci
Michelle Palatucci is a dancer who was was born and raised in Sydney, Australia training in all styles of dance. She began her professional dance training at the age 14, concentrating on Ballet and Contemporary at Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy. Michelle was accepted into the Joffrey Ballet School New York where she completed her 4 years of intense training gaining a full Diploma in Dance under the direction of Michael Blake, where she worked and collaborated with various choreographers and artists including Darrell Grand Moultrie, Matthew Powell and Chet Walker.
Michelle joined AsArts NY Dance; in 2016 where she has successfully performed various works choreographed by the artistic director Heidi (Hyung ji) Yu including Oasisperformed at Dixon Place Theatre and Between the Lines a duet at The Manhattan Movement and Arts Centre. In 2017 Michelle joined Lily Grace Cumming’s Dance Company Flair Entertainment NYC, formally known as Scintillate. Michelle’s first performance with Flair Entertainment was a benefit gala Querencia to support a fellow dancer battling cancer; all profits and proceeds went to the Hodgkin’s Lymphoma charity. She was a featured dancer in Maria Andrea Castellanos Gomez self choreographed and self produced show Stages; performing the works Life, Love, Despair, Joy and Freedom at the Martha Graham Studio Theatre. Fall of 2017 Michelle was hired by Brazilian choreography Talissa Bavaresco to join the cast of Calyx and XII as a principal dancer where she has already performed in NACHMO (National Choreography Month), New York Jazz Choreography Project, Holi Hai Festical NYC and 8 in Show at Dixon Place. While under the mentorship of Michael Blake, Michelle had the opportunity to restage works from great pioneers of modern dance. Two notable works include Fuegora by Mark Morris and Power/Full by Bill T. Jones. As part of the Stella Maris dance company Michelle was invited along with the rest of the dancers to compete and perform in the televised Dance of Champions, of which they were selected out of hundreds across Australia. In 2018 Michelle successfully auditioned for Jennifer Muller/ The Works Scholarship Program where she gained a position and has now commenced to work closely with the dance company. As well as dance Michelle has worked in the TV Industry in Australia under the direction of Voom Talent Agency including Dance Academy Season 2, AMMI Insurance Ad and Smiths Chips Ad.
Michelle completed her Higher School Certificate (Diploma) majoring in dance. She was selected for a Call-back by the New South Wales Dance Department of Education for excellence and high results in her higher school certificate exams for dance in both her Core Performance Dance and Major Performance Dance examinations by the board of Studies, New South Wales. Michelle has also completed her Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D) certified ballet exams up to Advanced 1, passing through all of them. Michelle has also been placed many times in various dance competitions in Australia. Additionally Michelle is also an experienced teacher in ballet, contemporary and jazz teaching on a regular basis when in Australia, hosting workshops for young dancers inspiring them to achieve their goals in dance. Michelle has is also a guest teacher for Flair Entertainment NYC workshops.
